Along with the holidays comes the ever so expected 'bottle' syndrome! I think sometimes in order to get through the holidays some of us take to 'too' much alcohol and that is exactly what I did on Saturday evening; hence no blog yesterday so my apologies!
We all love a drink or two, but why we 'mix' and continue to down copius amounts of alcohol when we know that it will only hit us once we get to the front door, after we've tucked ourselves in bed or in the morning when we try to get up and we find an elephant sitting on our head with a mouth like Ghandi's flip flop.....
And to top it all off, its always when there is some sort of family/friend mini drama happening; therefore it makes our head work even harder under the stress of the liquid pain. I put myself through a day of pain and even a two hour massage didn't make things better. I felt as though someone was hammering in my head, little elves trying to get out to deliver their xmas packages!? They wouldn't give up and only simple relaxation and sleep would assist in making me feel much better this morning.
Remember that celebrating is always a necessity, but also remember to keep to one 'vice' whether it be gin, vodka, beer, wine, whatever, but DO NOT mix that is lethal as I'm sure you all know. Make sure you drink a glass of water to each alcoholic drink and take it slow as there is no reason to rush this ritual. Drinking is there to enjoy; not abuse and so many of us forget this. Our body is a temple and we have to take care of it or it will show in our later years. Drinking affects our skin and our course our vital organs which are so precious to us in early and later life.
I'm never quite sure how I get to drink so much, but I do know that an egg nogg martini, red wine, vodka tonic, berry martini and whiskey do not mix well together and that 'my dear watson' is the reason to put anyone over the edge for one single evening.
Love life, love fun, love adventure, love to appreciate the right way to drink and don't overdo it this holiday season; for your body will thank you later and you will be one less wrinkle as well!
